About me

Artist's Statement

Photography has always been my art since childhood. Cameras are a kind of artistic tool I excel at using. My first camera was a Kodak, and I used it to share with the world what I saw. My images are meaningful to me because they tell a story every time I capture all the ideas I want to share. I am open and intuitive in my photography, using a simple camera until I started using a DSLR camera a few years ago, when I first attended the Art Institute of Seattle and did not complete my degree. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at Arizona State University. Since I have been using a DSLR camera, I have had a lot to learn about digital photography and have been shooting in RAW, which I love. I as a photographer move through life, camera in hand, capturing my experience is the crucial, defining characteristic of photography, one which acts to separate it from other art forms, such as painting or any other form of imaginative illustration. It's a beautiful, inspiring, even sacred, concept. If this direct link to an experience is broken then the resulting image can no longer be called a photograph. In this regard, I consider myself to be a photographer.

I enjoy all the kinds of photography, from newborns and families to weddings and birthday parties, and the adventures I go on, exploring all the different places I visit. I am more fascinated by photography in different ways, as I stated earlier, and maybe a blog about all the places I go and the stories I tell about them. I like to provide amazing experiences to make people happy, and I also like to share all the amazing information about the places I go to inspire people about them I enjoy taking photos for many reasons. I love to capture amazing photos of the precious moments in our lives. One idea that sparks my curiosity is exploring the potential, then moving on until the next bit of inspiration reveals itself. This continuous and fluid process draws me more deeply into the creative process, producing a mindset which is at once intuitive, reactive, spontaneous, fresh, and most importantly, deeply engaging. As much as I enjoy capturing rewarding images, it is photography's ability to bring me ever deeper into the dance between myself, the subject, and the ever unfolding moment which I find truly rewarding. In the end, I firmly believe that being a photographer is not only the driving factor in the creation of an image but also creating a masterpiece within the image. My role is to remain open and receptive to these evolving variables as they guide me towards compelling compositions and images. Ultimately, I hope to turn my experiences in nature into highly engaging works of art.
